PAUL MAYHEW-ARCHER: INCURABLE OPTIMIST

The debut stand-up show from the multi award-winning co-writer of The Vicar of Dibley

"An entertaining hour with an engaging raconteur who refuses to take his illness seriously" ★★★★★ The Wee Review

Paul’s co-written or worked on many much-loved comedy shows – I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Old Harry’s Game, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Spitting Image and Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot starring Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench.

Now Paul has Parkinson’s but he’s still laughing.

Following his BBC One Documentary, Parkinson’s: The Funny Side (for which he won the Grierson Award for Best Documentary Presenter), a triumphant debut at London’s Comedy Store, and a sold-out month at the Edinburgh Fringe, her’s a one man show about the therapeutic power of comedy.

Paul is not contagious but he is worth catching.

“A master of story telling, timing and delivery... an expertly conceived and delivered hour of comedy” ★★★★ Fringe Review

“Charmingly funny & warmly delivered... The well-worked punchlines should appeal to every age” ★★★★ What’s On London

“Eloquent storytelling reminiscent of the likes of Terry Jones and Peter Sellers... sets the room into fits of laughter” ★★★★ BroadwayBaby

“I know Paul as ‘F***wit’. He’s always been very funny, but now he has Parkinson’s, he’s ‘F***wittier’” – Dawn French

“Very funny, and moving too” – Richard Curtis

“Paul isn’t just one of the country’s funniest writers. It turns out he is also an annoyingly brilliant performer” – Josh Widdicombe

“Brave – and funny” – Ian Hislop

“So funny – and true, in the way only comedy can express” – Rory Bremner

“Laugh out loud funny and bursting with warmth and charm, like seeing your favourite uncle on Christmas Day take the piss out of your nan” – Daisy May Cooper, BAFTA winning star of This Country
